Military Pension Office Denies Purported Plans To Review Salaries

Military Pensions Board (MPB) has come out to debunk reports on some social media platforms purporting that it planned to review military pension. The board claimed that such activity lies outside its purview and warned the public, especially the retired military officers to ignore such reports.

In a release made available to Armada Ikenna Ezendu, Squadron Leader and Public relations officer of MPB, the board attributed the reports to the handiwork of mischievous people. “Our attention has been drawn to numerous false online information circulating among its pensioners on the proposed MPB salary structure for officers. The false information are being circulated by some unscrupulous people to mislead and confuse military pensioners. MPB hereby disassociate itself from the falsehood.

” The Board wishes to state categorically that it has no constitutional right to propose any salary structure. “Consequently, Military Pensioners are advised to disregard any false information circulating on the social media and other communication channels,” the officer said in the release.
