The Chief of Staff to Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, Mr Aminu Logun is being quizzed by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) over his involvement in financial irregularities in the build up to the 2019 general elections.
According to investigations Logun was summoned by the EFCC to explain how he received allegedly received a huge undisclosed amount of fund from Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) on behalf of Governor Abdulrahaman for the purpose of prosecuting the 2019 elections.
Logun arrived the EFCC Zonal Office in Ilorin, Kwara State capital on Wednesday afternoon and was immediately ushered into the interrogation room where he is being grilled by operatives of the Commission.
EFCC extended invitation to Logun after some members of the 8th Kwara State House of Assembly earlier questioned mentioned his name in connection with funds.
Though this medium could not verify whether Logun used the money for the 2019 elections but there are indicting records that he received money from KWIRS
According to multiple sources in Ilorin, Governor Abdulrazaq has vowed not to intervene in the case and would want the law to run its full course.
