Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele popularly known as Jenifa is in Police net for hosting a house party in defiance of the Lagos State Government Restriction Orders.

Akindele had hosted the party at the house located at Amen Estate, Ibeju- Lekki to celebrate the 43rd birthday of her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz.

A video recording of the house party had gone viral courtesy of Akindele’s husband and it immediately attracted outrage with many Nigerians calling for her arrest for flouting the restrictions orders of the state government.

Akindele an ambassador for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and Dettol had done several messages on the need to comply with measures to stop the outbreak of the Coronavirus infection.

She had in response to criticism of the video of the house party apologise for explaining that she did not intend to send a wrong message with the hosting of the party.

Lagos Police spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana who confirmed the arrest of the actress said she is being interrogated at the SCID

“Attention of Lagos State Police Command was drawn to a viral video showing a large number of persons mainly in the entertainment industry in an Estate, along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki axis, Lagos celebrating a birthday party organised by Funke Akindele Bello and her husband. Police detectives from the State CID Yaba were promptly drafted to the location.

“Funke Akindele was arrested. The investigation is ongoing, efforts are intensified to arrest the remaining persons in the video, among whom are Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz.

“They are in their best interests urged to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday 6th April 2020 or risk being declared wanted.”
